Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

The short version: Picture in Picture runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, store, or sell your browsing history, the videos you watch, or any personal information.

What the extension does

Picture in Picture finds the video playing on the page you're on and pops it out into a floating window that stays on top of your other windows. All of this happens locally, in your browser. The video never passes through our servers.

What we collect

We do not collect personal data. The one thing the extension sends is a small, anonymous event when it is first installed or updated:

This is used only to show you the right welcome or “what's new” page. It contains no account, no identifiers, and nothing about the sites you visit or the videos you play.

What we don't collect

Why the extension asks for broad permissions

To pop out a video on any website, the extension needs permission to run on all sites and to inject a small script that locates the playing video. It uses this access for one purpose only — finding and floating the video you asked for. It does not read, store, or transmit page content.

Data sharing

We don't sell or share your data, because we don't collect it. There is no third-party analytics or advertising in the extension.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after a change means you accept the updated policy.
